FAQ
How accurate is this?
It gives a budget range based on typical 2026 London rates. A decorator who has seen the rooms will give a firm price, because prep, access and repairs can move the cost a lot.
How is my price worked out?
From room size, condition, ceilings and woodwork. It's a guide only; your fixed written quote follows a free survey.
How much paint do I need?
Allow about 1 litre per 12 m² per coat, with two coats. Poor or new plaster needs a mist coat or primer as well.
Why do older properties cost more?
Victorian and Edwardian homes have high ceilings, ornate cornicing, deep skirting and sash windows. All of these take more time to prep and cut in.
Do you paint void properties between tenants?
Yes. For landlords and letting agents we offer an end-of-tenancy refresh: walls and ceilings in white or magnolia, two coats, with the turnaround agreed at survey and a fixed start date. We can collect keys from your office, send before and after photos and invoice on the day we finish. Woodwork, anti-mould paint, stain blocking and larger repairs are optional extras, and you get a fixed written quote first.
Who priced this?
The estimates are based on practical, hands-on experience of how long preparation, painting and woodwork can take. They are a guide only; your fixed written quote follows a free survey.
